Last quarter of summer. It’s still hot, but sunset is coming a little bit earlier. Flirtations are starting to get slower and bit more indulgent, but the air still feels electric.
However, fall is creeping into the air. Pumpkins and Halloween decorations fill the shelves. It's the beginning of transition.
In that vein, this is a period of letting go, walking away, and allowing better to fill the space. What does comfort look like for you? How does it feel in your body? How are things in life conflicting with you actualizing that?
There are boundaries that need to be stricter and joy, love, and a self worthy of your protection.
I'm sure the last few weeks have been a challenge and have likely brought to focus what is and isn't working. End the repetitious commitment to valuing other people's, institutions', or figureheads' wants and ideals over what you want and need for yourself.
This could be relationships, jobs and hierarchies with your colleagues, religious communities, friendships, or even your time management and how you're managing obligations to your self.
Lean into the endings and the things that are constricting you. Be honest with yourself and what you need. There is sweetness on the other side of choosing yourself, even if the initial taste is bitter.

It’s only right that the sounds for this month give you the energy to groove through/dance off all that needs to be let go.
While this mix is older, it is one of my favorites, by one of my favorites: Midnight Perserves A-Side by DJ RQ Away. It is a funky blend of jazz, classic hip hop, and remixes of your auntie’s favorites.
Remember: good music is timeless.
